Mosquito Bits Biological Control
Overview
Mosquito Bits is a highly selective microbial insecticide (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (BTI) effective against mosquito larvae in any containerized standing water including water gardens, bird baths, flower pots, tree holes, rain barrels and roof gutter. Kills mosquito larvae within 24 hours. Mosquito's can transmit West Nile Virus and Encephalitis. Fish and animal friendly.
Applied to containerized water surface the BITS work on two levels. First they release a biological mosquito larvacide (BTI) at the water's surface. Then the larvacide gradually settles in the water where it is eaten by mosquito larvae growing there ending their stay.
