Vermiculite is a mica-type mineral that has been heated causing it to expand into accordion-like particles, which absorb nutrients as well as water. As a soil conditioner Uni-Gro Premium Organic Vermiculite lightens heavy soils and holds moisture in sandy soils. Retains both air and water and is useful in conditioning container soils.

Seed Germination
Place Vermiculite in a flat and moisten thoroughly. Press small furrows into the vermiculite and sow the seeds at a proper depth. Cover the seed lightly with additional Vermiculite and moisten.

Bulb and Tuber Storage
For storing bulbs and tubers (like dahlias) during the winter months, place them in a container with vermiculite that is dry, making sure bulbs are completely covered. Then store in a cool dry location

Flower arrangement
For flower arrangements, place vermiculite into the desired vase and saturate with water. Then place the flowers into their position in the vase. The Vermiculite will hold the flowers in place as well as supply necessary water.

Uni-Gro Premium Organic Vermiculite may be used both indoors or outdoors with excellent results.
